I Will Run For Food
Chicago Marathon Training: Week 3 Day 2
I opted to run on the indoor, air-conditioned, adult sized hamster wheel today. The track at the community center is ridiculously small (11 times around = 1 mile), but it was a far better option than doing a tempo run when it’s 93 and humid.
Ms. Melinda met me and we knocked out what felt like a pretty easy tempo run:
1 mile warm-up
2 miles 15-45 seconds faster than race goal pace
1/2 mile cool down.
We ran 3.7 miles in 30:59. Average pace 8:22!
I felt really relaxed the whole workout. Despite the fact that I almost face planted multiple times. I don’t lift my feet high enough when I run or walk, so I have a tendency to trip on the rubber track. The upside, I’m a very quiet walker/runner, which means I can sneak up on people without even trying :)
