I Will Run For Food
Sorry I’ve been MIA the past few days. Work has been crazy, and I’ve been spending my evenings planning the road trip that my husband and I are taking next week.
This year for our anniversary, we decided to take a good old fashioned road trip. We usually hop on a plane, so this will be the first that we will spend a week in the car, together, sightseeing. Hopefully we will both survive :)
The plan is to head to Yellowstone via the Badlands/Black Hills of South Dakota. We are leaving on Sunday morning and will visit Badlands National Park, Mount Rushmore, Deadwood, Custer State Park, Devil’s Tower, Jackson Hole, the Grand Tetons National Park, and finally Yellowstone National Park. We think we are going to come home through Billings, Montana and North Dakota.
I’m looking forward to some amazingly beautiful country. Quality time with the hubby, and a whole lot of hiking/exploring. Somewhere in there I will attempt to keep up with marathon training. I am banking extra hours this week just in case… The good news is, we should be home in time for me to fit in my long run next weekend.
I am NOT looking forward to digging all the camping gear out of the garage. Ick.

Chicago Marathon: Week 6, Day 6

I was out the door early this morning to make up a 3 mile run from earlier in the week. It could only be described as “steamy”.
I ran 3.01 miles in 32:03. Average pace 10:38.

I then spent the morning/afternoon with my parents at a farmers market and art fair in Northfield,MN. I went to college there, so we drove around campus for a bit as well.

My husband and I decided last minute that we are going camping tomorrow. He’s out with friends tonight, so I am scrambling to pack, organize and get us on the road early tomorrow. Of course we won’t leave until AFTER my 10 mile run.

Commencing panicking…
